In this
volume nine stories were
collected, resulted from
an extensive research
and careful selection; we have
achieved this by reading quite a
few books, to submit
texts from all cultures and very
different traditions whose common
theme was
but the Earth.
Fairy tales possess an
universal language, they
are similar throughout the world,
and often there are multiple
versions, culturally distant, but
with the same symbolic
archetypes. Our research work has
been of finding stories, still
not well known
and geographically distant, but
that shared a same spiritual
vision of the Earth.
In some cases we have referred to
the original language or dialect,
like in the
Piedmont or Sicily tales, in
which we tried to maintain the
freshness and original
spirit. Much attention was also
given to the iconographic
research and to the
pictures care, all of great charm
and with delicate suggestions.
The Earth as one of the
four basic elements of nature,
but also as culture, belief,
or phisical or mental place, from
which you came from. Mother
Earth, life dispencer,
which may be cave with a hidden
treasure, may arise as a spirit
of a willow tree or
rosemary plant, or become a
sacred animal, such as wolves or
bison, which
represents the wild and stainless
nature.
An all-feminine book,
starring women, girls, goddesses,
princesses, female
role-models who struggle and love
and fight for their survival and
independence.
Above all of them dominates the
spirit of Mother Goddess, or
Mother Earth, who
lovingly accompanies their
vicissitudes.
